Review & giveaway 14: Ultimate Origami

Tuttle Publishers has given me an excellent sets of origami set for beginners to review.

The publishers have kindly agreed to give (given) a set of free to two random visitors to my blog (one set each)!

I’m not very good at origami…but I was able to fold many things by following the steps on the DVD and in the book!

Review & Giveaway 13: A Geek In Japan

I have another book to review from Tuttle Books and, once again, they have kindly agreed to give (given) one free copy of this book to a random visitor to my blog!

The book that I’m reviewing here is titled “A Geek in Japan: Discovering the Land of Manga, Anime, Zen, and the Tea Ceremony” by Hector Garcia.

Mr. Garcia is a Spanish software engineer and self-proclaimed “geek” who’s been living in Tokyo since 2004.

He is very interested in Japanese culture, especially it’s pop culture and has written this book explaining all aspects of life in modern Japan, especially Tokyo.

Anyone who is interested in Japanese culture, both modern and traditional, will be interested in this book.
Mr. Garcia was very thorough in his explanations about things that have are an everyday part of life to me in Japan. His writing style is enjoyable to read and the numerous photos on every page are really nice.
