Present for McDonalds 40th year in Japan

McDonalds opened their first shop in Japan in 1971…forty years ago.
Japan was one of the earliest overseas (ie: outside the U.S.) markets that McDonalds opened in.

To celebrate McDonalds 40周年 (40th anniversary) in Japan, they will be offering a few different special campaigns at different times.

The first campaign is a free hamburger.
From 5:00 PM Saturday, 2011 September 24th – Sunday, September 25th, if you order any Value Meal set at a McDonalds in Japan, you will receive a free hamburger with your order.

They haven’t announced yet what the following campaigns will be.

    The current campaign for McDonalds Japan’s 40th anniversary is the “Big Mac” burger for the special price of ¥200.
    This offer will end on Friday, 2011 Oct 28th.

    That’s hard for me to imagine! 😉 I grew up in Florida and I live in Tokyo…I’ve been to Disney World in Florida and Tokyo Disneyland many times.

    Next, you have to visit Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea. This month was the tenth anniversary of Tokyo Disney Sea.

    Any freebie with (or) without purchasing something is always good marketing. There is a McDonalds right down the street from me in walking distance. Did you know that Walt Disney World Resort (Orlando) opened up on October 1st, 1971? Black Sabbath released their “Master Of Reality” album in July of 1971. 1971 was a very cool year! 🙂

      No. I’m from Florida but I didn’t know the date that Disney World opened.
      How did you know that?

        My wife and I took our girls to Walt Disney World this past July. There were “40th Anniversary” trinkets and stuff for sale there… I marveled at the entire place and truly had a great time. It was the first time going to Walt Disney World Resort for all of us too. 🙂
