He he who’s spent the last hour having fun with those videos instead of working?!

So great to see all those! Some are not online anymore (AC/DC, Scorpions, Metallica). My favourites are Quiet Riot, Twisted Sisters and Skiw Row, makes me wish I was born 20 years earlier!

I did not know Jackyl or Loudness and I love them!
Do you know Sex Machineguns? A heavy metal Japanese bands, from the 00’s (I guess we say it that way?) .

That song from Judas Priest makes me think about Guitar Hero, I just love that game! Is it popular in Japan?
And they will be in Looud Park, yeaaaah!

You didn’t know about the American band Jackyl or the Japanese band Loudness before?

      I like both alot.

Yes, I know the band Sex Machineguns.
They were scheduled to open for KISS on the Japan portion of the “Psycho Circus” tour…but KISS ended that tour before it came to Japan.

(BTW, most rock concerts in Japan have no opening act.)

And I don’t think the “Guitar Hero” game is popular here. I’ve never seen it in any store…nor advertised on TV.

      >they (Judas Priest) will be in “Loud Park ’09” (Japanese heavy metal festival)…

Yes, I know. I like Priest!
I saw their Reunion Tour concert (also called “Redemption Tour“) in Yokohama a few years back.

Have you ever seen the reality show “Gene Simmons Family Jewels?” I’m watching it now and it made me think of you! I’m not a KISS fan, but love the show, it’s pretty funny.

Do you know the band Godiego? They had a really popular song when I was a kid here called “Monkey Magic”. I still remember all the words, I think I still have the 45!

      >Have you ever seen the reality show “Gene Simmons Family Jewels?”

      Of course I know about it. It’s KISS-related! 😉
But I haven’t seen it. It’s never aired in Japan.
How do you watch it? Do they show it on the U.S. base TV station?

I have seen the other Gene Simmons’ show: “Gene Simmons School Of Rock“.
They aired season one of that show on Japanese TV…but it wasn’t popular, so it was discontinued.

      >I’m not a KISS fan

      I can’t understand how that’s possible! 😀

      >Do you know the band Godiego?

Of course, it’s an old Japanese pop band.

      >They had a really popular song when I was a kid here called “Monkey Magic”.

Yes, I know. The band that I show the video for above called “Monkey Majik” got their name from that song.
Monkey Majik also did a remake of the song “Monkey Magic“.

      >I think I still have the 45!

45’s?! 🙂 Great. I used to have a bunch of those.
(For anyone too young to remember…a “45” is a seven-inch record that got it’s name from that fact that it was played at 45RPMs (rather than the standard 33-1/3 RPM for 12-inch records). They only had one song on each side…so they were a “vinyl single”—which is the ’70s / early ’80s version of a “cassette single”—which is the late ’80s version of a “CD single”!)

I think it’s great that you still have 45s!
I still have my favorite 12″ records (but no turntable anymore) and cassettes…but I no longer have my 45s.

        >I still have my Pink Lady and Southern All Stars 45’s as well…..along with Shaun Cassidy (be still my heart!) and The Osmonds!

I like Southern All Stars (I have a couple of their CDs)…but I’m not really a fan of those others.

I remember that Shaun Cassidy and The Osmonds were popular when I was young in the ’70s…but I never listened to them (I couldn’t name a single song title by them).

When I was a kid in the 70s, I had a record collection with KISS, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, etc.

I have to thank my eldest brother for exposing heavy metal and rock & roll music to me or I would never recognise any of these names ..Loudness was one of the albums I remembered sneaking in his room to listen to before he came home. They’re actually a great band, awesome to listen to. Skid Row apart from my huge crush on Sebastian Bach’s adonis look I actually love listening to 18 & Life. Metallica for me would have to be Enter Sandman, AC/DC has alot for me to choose .. Megadeth – No more Mr Nice Guy, Twisted Sister’s We’re not gonna make it, is one iconic anthem for me back in the 80s. How about Pink Floyd?

Yeah, Pink Floyd is good. I especially like “Dark Side Of The Moon” (even better than “The Wall“).

I saw Loudness in concert in Florida when I was a teenager. And I saw them again in Tokyo.

You know, I’m sure, that “No More Mr. Nice Guy” is actually an Alice Cooper song.
Megadeth remade it for the “Shocker” movie soundtrack.

Metallica was great until the black album…all of their songs from Kill ‘Em All up to the black album are excellent…but they went downhill from there.

      Ozzy’s albums are all great!

Did you watch all the videos in this post?
