More and more McDonalds in Japan have begun offering delivery service called “McDelivery“.
Does McDonalds offer delivery service in your country? Have you ever used it?
I have used pizza delivery, ramen delivery and sushi delivery…but I still have never used Kentucky Fried Chicken or McDonalds delivery?
What types of food can be delivered in your country?
And, just like the pizza, Kentucky Fried Chicken and other delivery services in Japan, McDonald’s McDelivery have company mopeds that are used to deliver the food.

In Taiwan we have the McDelivery for several years now. We love it especially on Friday lunch time at work, it’s always nice to have a lil junk good to celebrate TGIF!

I’m surprised about the ramen delivery since I would think the noodles would be soggy by the time you got it. 🙂

In Tokyo, you can get Kentucky Fried Chicken, sushi, ramen, etc delivered too.

Yeah, we don’t have that here but then I am at least 50 miles away from the closest McDonalds so doubt they would be too keen!

I live in County Cork in Ireland at the moment and the nearest McDonalds is in the city.
Actually went yesterday for the first time in eleven months lol

Ireland looks beautiful, judging from the pictures I’ve seen … but I prefer the convenience of the big city!
Are there any shops, restaurants, etc near you at all?
Not eating fast-food often is better for your health.

Yeah, I am from London originally and kinda miss it…there are a few small towns near us, probably around 1,500 people or so.
No chain stores or fast food places though. Must admit that it is kind of refreshjing!

I’ve been living in Tokyo for most of my life now … I’m quite used to it.
I think I’d go crazy if I moved to the countryside.
It is nice to visit such places though!

McD in Hong Kong has this delivery service for some time (two or three years?). I think there’s a minimum meal cost. The staff person gets HK$2 (JPY 25) per delivery. I’ve never used the service and, frankly, I can’t relate to it – why deliver fast food like McD in a small place like Hong Kong where there’s a McBongo on practically every corner?

There is no tipping in Japan.

How do you know who to tip, and how much to give?
And is it a problem if you forget to?
I’m American but I’m not used to tipping anymore.

@tokyo5: We in HK go by the rule of thumb – 10% tip if there’s no service charge. Who to tip isn’t too hard to figure out & mostly ‘playable by ear.’ If you forget, it’s no big deal here. But I can relate to what you’re saying – last time I was in the USA it was mostly a tipping-fest. Broadly speaking, China has become a tipping-fest place on the rise, unfortunately.

Yeah, just under 3 years in Tokyo. Lived in some company-supplied quarters somewhere in Shinjuku.
