Tokyo Disneyland opened on 1983 April 15th … thirty years ago today.
I can’t believe how fast time flies!
When I first came to Japan, Tokyo Disneyland was only seven years old.
Tokyo Disneyland is calling this year, 2013, the “Happiness Year”.

Did you go to Tokyo Disneyland too?
Tokyo Disneyland is the most profitable of all of the Disney parks in the world…it’s also the only one not owned by the Disney Corp.

Well, personally, I prefer Tokyo Disney Sea to Tokyo Disneyland simply because visitors are allowed to drink beer in Disney Sea but not at Disneyland!

We had plans to go to Tokyo Disneyland on March 14, 2011. So….that didn’t happen.

Yeah, Tokyo Disneyland closed for awhile after the big earthquake of 2011 March 11.
Have you been to any of the Disney parks around the world?

I went to Disney World (the one in Florida) when I was in junior high but haven’t been back as an adult. Neither my daughter nor my husband have been to any of the parks. We’re hoping to rectify that in the next couple of years.

I’ve only been to Disney World and Disney Epcot Center in Florida, and Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea.
I haven’t been to the ones in California, Hong Kong, Shanghai or Paris.
Which park does your family plan to visit?

I was in an orchestra that played in Disney World (Florida) around 2002-2005 (somewhere in that time period). It’s fuzzy now. I’d have to look through a bunch of paperwork to find it but at face value that’s what it was.
It was a pretty good time.
