Have you ever watched the documentary about the fast-food industry in general and McDonalds in particular titled “Super Size Me“?
That movie introduces you to a man named Don Gorske who claims to have eaten at least one, but usually two, Big Mac sandwiches from McDonalds every single day of his life with the exception of only eight days since May 1972!
On 2004 July 19 Don Gorske ate his 20,000th Big Mac and he was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records for having eaten more of the burgers than anyone else in the world.
Don Gorske tried his first Big Mac on 1972 May 17 and he liked it so much he ate eight more the same day…and on 2011 May 17 (the day before yesterday), exactly thirty nine years after eating those first nine, he was recognized with a special ceremony at his local McDonalds for having eaten his 25,000th Big Mac.
Unsurprisingly, Mr. Gorske said he loves Big Macs and intends to continue eating them daily.
Ugh. I couldn’t eat just one Big Mac. I’m not a fan of them. Double Quarter Pounder for me, please! Surprising that he’s healthy. Also, his style seems to be stuck 30 years ago. Nice hair and glasses.

I like a Big Mac occasionally. Nowhere near as much as Mr. Gorske, though! 😉

Actually, I suspect he might be slightly mentally handicapped…which might explain his compulsive need to eat a Big Mac every single day—and to keep a record of it.

It is quite unusual to eat one every day. I would get incredibly bored of it.

Well, he may be a bit autistic. Or Obsessive-Compulsive.
Regardless, he enjoys eating the burgers everyday and it’s not hurting anyone…even himself—a doctor diagnosed him as healthy. And he seems proud to have the world record.
So, there’s no harm in it, I’d say.

I just heard more about him today. His cholesterol is fine and he’s actually doing OK. They were saying he is just a genetic fluke. His body can take all that fat, salt and what have you and he’s fine. Sigh. He’s very lucky.

Yeah, I read that too.
The doctors said that he’s actually in surprisingly good health…but they don’t recommend other people mimic Mr. Gorske’s dietary habits!

There’s not enough beef in a Big Mac for me but I find this is awesome. ^_^

The Big Mac doesn’t have enough beef for you??
Maybe you’d like this one or this one! 😉

You don’t think “a-burger-a-day” is a good idea, do you?

(When) I actually do eat even (one) Big Mac or it’s tempting cousin known as “The Whopper” at Burger King, I’m done for the next 24 hours. Gee Metal whiz… this dude has defied the medical “establishment”! And to think I felt guilty the other day when I ate just “4” Oreo cookies. LOL.

Mr. Gorske is the “Burger King”. 😉

Well, at that rate, you’re not gonna set any records (like Mr. Gorske did)! 😉

I agree that eating fast-food often is a bad idea…and eating it daily is ridiculous—but he seems happy with it.

I guess there are worse things he could be eating every day. Like, for instance, an actual tub of lard.

Cut out the middle-man, that would.
