Pink Pepsi

2 Dec

I have written posts a few times before about some of the unusual “only-in-Japan” flavors of Pepsi and Kit-Kats that are often sold here.

Well, the latest Pepsi flavor is 「ペプシ・ピンク」 (“Pepsi Pink“).

It’s strawberry and milk flavored! I have no interest in trying this…but my daughters have tried it and they said they liked it.

Does Pepsi sell anything like this in your country? Would you buy it?

This was out again at the end of last year….I haven’t seen it but haven’t been looking for it either.

Really? I didn’t know it was re-released. But I rarely buy cola…it’s too sweet!

Hi, did you guys know that Pepsipink.com is already owned by a company called Prospeedo, I guess they have had that domain name for over 8 years, wow! and to think it took that long to make this crazy drink? who is Prospeedo?

      >who is Prospeedo?

I’m sure I have no idea. But it’s odd that they would own a domain-name so unlike their company name. Doesn’t sound like a very professional company to me.

My son and I just saw this at Lawson’s 100 convenient store, he wants to try it but hasn’t had the chance yet, he only get one soda type drink each week and already had a cider we picked up on a trip to Enoshima waiting for him in the fridge. If it is still around this week I’ll pick him up one. When I first saw it, I thought it would be a great fund raising product in the States by Pepsi for Breast Cancer Awareness (the Pink campaign).

Why don’t you buy one now and save it til he can have it?

To be honest I thought about that but knowing that you often post stuff like this on your blog I thought I’d wait to see what you and others had to say about this latest offering before taking the plunge. By the way thanks for the greta blog.

Tasted like bubblegum, if you ask me. I wrote a blog post about it and 3 other drinks.

Oops! Sorry I didn’t reply quickly. I drink mainly Coke Zero these days, though not often.

I think that tastes like diet cola…which means “not good”. 😉

I tried it yesterday. I’ve been meaning to try it for a while now, but I just couldn’t bring myself to try it work, so I bought it and drank it at home 😉

It was not really good. You’d expect the soft sweet taste of a classic cream soda with a bit of strawberry flavor – but it just tasted, I don’t know, wrong! It was too sour to be good, and nowhere was the milky cream soda type of flavor to be found.

Recommended only for scientific purposes 😉

If they sell it here, I would try it as I love the sound of it. Over here there is this drink call Sirap Bandung, its a mixture of milk and rose cordial syrup and if added with soda water, it would be the same as Pepsi Pink 🙂

      >Sirap Bandung

Does that name having a meaning?

,>a mixture of milk and rose cordial syrup

Is it good? It doesn’t sound like something I’d like.

Everyday I drink coffee with breakfast, water with lunch and beer with dinner. I normally don’t drink anything else.

I don’t drink much soda, but I believe Pepsi has released some different flavors in the U.S. At one point there was Cherry Pepsi and Vanilla Pepsi. I think recently, there was Cherry Vanilla Pepsi.

Does Pepsi Pink really taste like milk? I can imagine Strawberry tasting Pepsi, but not milk.

      Like a strawberry-flavored cream-soda, I think.

      I haven’t tried it, though.

Do you remember when strawberry was sold as a kind of “cocoa”-I know that doesn’t sound right, but there was a strawberry flavor that sold in a can much like cocoa is sold in a can and used to mix with milk. I hope you can understand what I am writing about, it’s not cocoa but sold in a can and mixed like cocoa and milk. anyway, it was pretty popular for awhile and I guess it wasn’t selling well as I don’t remember seeing it on the grocery shelves any more. it was more popular with girls, I think. and for those who don’t like milk it was a good way to drink it with a new flavor.
actually I haven’t had a pepsi or any other soft drink in years and I don’t miss them at all. maybe when you get older they lose their desire. how is it doing in Japan?

      >Do you remember when strawberry was sold as a kind of “cocoa”

I think you’re referring to “Nestle Quik” milk-flavoring powder. I think they sold (sell) chocolate, strawberry and banana flavor.

Don’t they still sell it in America?

Strawberry-milk is sold in Japan…but ready-to-drink in cartons.

      >I haven’t had a pepsi or any other soft drink in years

I sometimes drink cola, but not often. I don’t have a “sweet tooth”.

We don’t have it in the USA, and as bartman905 says, a lot of people here are pretty unadventurous when it comes to trying different flavors.
I would definitely give it a try.

Quite different from Japanese people! That’s why Japan has so many flavors of candies and drinks.

I would try this drink it sounds so nice, I’m not a huge fan of milk, but strawberry milkshake drinks taste great, and strawberry yoghurt drinks are even better, I imagine it to taste just like one of those, but of course carbonated.

You should try it just to see what its like.

I don’t drink cola very often…and I can’t bring myself to buy a pink one!

If one of my kids brings one home, I’ll take a taste.

Unlike Japan, it is so boring here in North America as you well know – so, no, nothing like that here in Canada and the US, just plain, old, boring Pepsi. I love strawberries (not sure about milk though), so I wouldn’t mind trying this. How long will this be on the shelves I wonder as it looks like we will be heading to Tokyo around Christmas time.

I’m not sure exactly but I think when stores run out of their current stock…it’s gone.

Really? Are you taking winter holiday in Tokyo? For how long?
