I started this blog 21 months ago (on 2008 March 26).
In the beginning, this blog only received about twenty hits per day, but since then, the number of visitors has steadily climbed, I’m happy to say.
Now my blog gets an average of 840 hits per day.
Last summer, this blog reached 100,000 hits.
In the four months since then, my blog has gotten another 100,000 hits.

This blog has had 200,084 visits at the time I wrote this post.
Thank you to all of the people who visit this blog…especially the ones who visit and comment regularly!
My most popular posts are currently about:
A Japanese manga called “Death Note“,
another one called “Detroit Metal City“,
McDonalds in Japan,
the Hollywood remake of the Japanese movie titled “Hachiko“,
King Kong vs Godzilla, and
Sea Shepherd.
Which the first post you read on my site? Which types of posts do you like?
I wanted to add a New Years countdown clock to this blog but I can’t add Javascript programs to this blog because “WordPress” doesn’t support Javascript.
But my Main Website does support Javascript.
So, click here and you can see a clock showing the current time in Tokyo…and another showing how long until the clock strikes midnight January 1, 2010 here.
(The clock showing Tokyo’s current time will remain on that page…but I’ll probably remove the countdown one after January. )

Congratulations on the 200,000 hits just shows how interesting your blogs are. I thoroughly enjoy reading what you have posted here since day 1 I followed your blogs. Although I can’t seem to remember what was the first post I read here .. any chances it can be found out here? My favorite posts are of, well, Japan! I also like your historical events blog too. Keep it up! I must say thanks to your site I managed to find 2 other interesting sites to read and have made good friends with Naoko.

Thomas The Tank Engine is popular in Japan with little boys…but I think Ultraman is more popular here too.

I think I responded to a post you made on our LIZARDS FROM AFAR blog when I posted something negative about Gene Simmons.
After that I just keep coming back as I am somewhat fascinated by the idea of an American moving into a culture that is completely different than his own and with a completely different language.
I’d love to read some stories about your first days/weeks/months over there.
