I started this blog eighteen months ago, and last night my blog reached 100,000 hits!
The first month I started this blog (2008 March), it got only about 20 hits a day…but the number steadily climbed.
These days my blog gets between 700 – 850 hits a day. At that rate, it’ll get another 100,000 by next January.

My blog's monthly stats for 2008 March - 2009 August
Sometimes I’m surprised by the search engine terms that people have used to find my blog.
Such as:
- IKEA logo (I have a post about IKEA in Japan. And their logo is on the page. Click here).
- McDonalds logo (It’s on this post).
- Gene Simmons (He’s the bassist in the rock band KISS. I have a number of KISS-related posts. This post shows his photo and a video of him performing a song written exclusively for a Japanese movie).
- Detroit Metal City (This is the Japanese movie that Gene Simmons cameos in).
- Death Note (I have this post).
- Rock And Roll Over (I did two interviews with the artist of that KISS album cover. Here and here).
- Godzilla (Maybe this post will interest you).
- Octopus (I have a post about octopi with too many legs. It’s here).
- John Lennon shot (I wrote a post about it on the 28th anniversary of that tragedy).
How did you find my blog? With a search engine? What were you searching when you found it? Did you find, on my blog, what you were looking for?
And, if you have a blog, what search engine terms do people use to commonly find your blog?
Great news!
Send some of those views my way! π

Congratulations on the popularity of your site! I am commenting on this a bit late as I am only just catching up after my holidays on sites I visit. I think I found your site through another – maybe http://naodragonpeach.wordpress.com/ ? I keep reading as I like your thoughtful pieces on various Japanese matters. I am half Japanese myself but have never lived there so it is nice to hear about it. I am trying to get better at the language too.

Actually, I think you found the LIZARDS FROM AFAR blog posting about Gene Simmons.
We got to “talking” about KISS and have kept in contact ever since.
I love checking out your blog!

Your Sea Shepard post is a great one – it’s how I found you! (While it appears we disagree on the subject of who is right or wrong, at least the discussion is interesting!)

That post gets many hits everyday (even now over half a year since I wrote it)…but sometimes I wish I didn’t write it! π

Congratulations. I love the curve of your graph. It’s rather sexy. π
I think I found you whilst I was browsing blogs related to Japan. And I certainly found relevant stuff here. π
The most common stuff people type in google to find me are characters related to CANAAN the anime. I even got a hit from one looking for yuri. /facepalm

I occasionally see that people have found my blog from a web search related to anime…but not often (I only have a few anime-related posts).

>I wonder how YOU found it (my blog)?
I have many terms that interest me in my “blog surfer” that shows blogs related to those terms…and yours came up.
It’s an interesting idea for a blog, so I commented.
My first comment on your blog was here:

Also, my most popular search entry is “brad pit.” Yes, a typo is my most popular search term.
