Japanese Columbo, RIP

石田太郎 (Taro Ishida), a Japanese actor who also did voice dubbing for many Japanese releases of Hollywood movies.  He was the “voice” of Gene Hackman in most of Hackman’s movies in Japan.  He was also the Japanese voice of the late Peter Falk’s TV detective character “Columbo“.

Mr. Ishida died this past weekend.

    Hiroshi Yamauchi the grandson of the founder of Nintendo died recently as well as Toyoda-san and Ishida-san.

      Yes, that’s right. I wrote about the recent passing of both Mr. Toyoda and Mr. Ishida … but it’s seems I had forgotten about the grandson of the founder of Nintendo’s recent death.
