It’s a three-day weekend in Japan now.
Tomorrow is 「勤労感謝の日」 (“Labor Day“) in Japan. (Click here to see my short FAQ about this holiday.)
My daughters heard that the American TV series 「プリズン・ブレイク」 (“Prison Break“) is good.
The first four seasons are currently available for rental on DVD at stores in Japan.
So we rented the first four episodes of season one of this series.
We’re gonna watch it tonight.
I haven’t watched an American TV series in years. We watch normal Japanese TV shows.
Have you seen this American show? Is it good? (Don’t tell me how it ends 😉 ).
And then tomorrow, the five of us are gonna go to a nearby park, play catch and have a picnic lunch together.
My kids are teenagers now, so they spend alot of their free-time with their friends…but we try to enjoy time together as a family.
I’ve heard so many good things about Prison Break, yet I’ve never gotten around to watching it. I hate watching TV due to commercials, but I can’t bring myself to sit through a whole season of shows on DVD either.
What constitutes a “normal” Japanese show? 😛

When I wrote in this post that I watch normal Japanese TV, I meant that I watch Japanese TV and that’s what seems like regular TV to me now…and it’s American TV that’s become exotic to me now.

I watched a few episodes from the 1st season and stopped ..didnt do much for me. I recommend 24 the cliffhanger at the end of each episode just makes you go curious to know what happen and who was the mole etc ..

I’ve seen DVDs of the US series “24” at the video store, but I’ve never rented a TV series DVD.
It was my kids’ idea to get “Prison Break“.
Actually I’m not used to American TV anymore, I guess. I think Japanese TV shows are better.

I think you mean: “No, you’re not”.
Negative questions / statements are different in English than in Japanese.

I didn’t watch, but I remember reviews of it were VERY good the first season. After that they kinda ran out of things I think…reviews got kinda bad.

Actually, when I watched it I thought the four episodes I saw were good but I was wondering how they could continue the story for so many episodes.
