After thirty years, they got their Nobel Prize

8 Oct

Did you hear the news about the two elderly Japanese scientists who just received a Nobel Prize for their work in chemistry that they did in the late 1970s?

It’s big news in Japan? How about in your country? Was it on the news where you live?

Eiichi Negishi, a 75 year old Chemistry professor at Purdue University in America, and Akira Suzuki, a retired 80 year old professor at the University of Hokkaido, Japan both received a Nobel Prize a few days ago.

It took over thirty years for them to get awarded the prize, but both men were very happy to receive their award.

Less than twenty people in Japan have been awarded a Nobel Prize so far, so it’s always big news here when a Japanese does win one.
