    I always loved to see the Japanese people wearng their traditional clothes. I also enjoyed very much staying in old ryokan with all the tradition followed therein. I don’t care much for the young Japanese emulation of hip westerners. But, c’est la vie.

      Those are yukata; light summer kimono.
      Yukata are popular at summer festivals in Japan.

        There are so many different types of excellent festivals in Japan … not only in the summer, but all year.
