Yesterday (2013 May 12), my friend and I went to OzzFest Japan.
It was great!
We went the second day of the two-day heavy metal festival. There were bands on the first day that I would’ve like to see…namely Slipknot, but I mostly wanted to see Black Sabbath.
Here’s the line-up of bands that I saw:
Black Sabbath played:
“War Pigs“, “Into the Void“, “Under the Sun“, “Snowblind“, “Black Sabbath“, “Behind the Wall of Sleep“, “N.I.B.“, “Fairies Wear Boots“, “Symptom of the Universe“, “Iron Man“, “God Is Dead“, “Children of the Grave”
and the encore was “Paranoid“.

Went to OzzFest a few times back home in the UK was a damn good festival. Did you see Steelpanther?

Yeah, Steel Panther was one of the acts that I saw … “Death To All But Metal!”
Who played at OzzFest when you went?

Ozzy Osbourne, Pantera, Godsmack, Static-X, Incubus, Methods of Mayhem, P.O.D., Queens of the Stone Age, soulfly, system of a down, bucket head, papa roach.
Was pretty good actually. haven’t been for years though

Pretty good line-up … some of those bands are better than others, but I bet it was fun!

Are you a fan of theirs?
If you like their music, you’d enjoy their show … they were very charasmatic!
But I don’t like that type of growling / screaming vocals … so I didn’t enjoy their set so much.

Well, he did say that they’re gonna do OzzFest in Japan again next year … so you should have at least one more chance.

Have you been to any of the many music festivals in Japan before?
For example, the Loudpark Heavy-metal Festival? Or Summer Sonic (Metallica will headline that one this summer).

No we only got here in late February, haven’t been to any. We will have to look these up, thanks for the heads up!

If you like metal, I’d recommend Loudpark over Summer Sonic.
