Do you know what わさび (wasabi) is?
Wasabi is a spicy condiment made from a root. It is most commonly eaten with sushi…but, it is eaten with other foods as well–including avacado, noodles, and mayonnaise.
There are also “wasabi snacks”—potato chips and nuts—in Japan.
I like spicy food. So, I eat wasabi on many different things.
Do you like wasabi?
Well, now McDonalds in Japan is offering a new item…
the 「チキンタツタわさびタルタル」 (which is basically “Fried Chicken with Wasabi Tartar-sauce“) sandwich.

I’m not sure if I have eaten wasabi or not. when I tried sushi there was a sm. amt of some green stuff, looked kind of like a paste and it was on the side of the sushi in the same pkg. do you think that was wasabi? Dad tried it and said it was very spicey and I think he said it was hot. it didn’t look appetizing at all, so I didn’t try it. I have been getting sushi every wk now that I finally tried it!

Yes, wasabi comes with sushi and looks like a green paste.
And, yes, it has a “spicy” taste … though not actually “spicy” – – it’s not a spice, it’s a root – – a type of horse-radish.
Do you eat sushi every week now? It’s so often!
If you love sushi now, you should eat it “right”… put some wasabi on each piece under the fish.
That’s how sushi is meant to taste! In fact, if you eat at a sushi restaurant, the wasabi will be put on the sushi by the chef.
Also, there are probably small pieces of pink ginger (ショウガ) that come with your sushi too. You’re meant to eat a piece of ginger after eating a piece of sushi and before the next … to “clear” the taste from your mouth so that the next piece can be fully appreciated!

When I get to Japan someday, I will try the sushi there “only” if I can go to the KISS store. 🙂 \m/

If you want to visit the “KISS store” in Tokyo, you shouldn’t wait too long … can’t be sure how much longer it’ll be around for — there used to be two KISS stores, but one’s already closed down!

I get wasabi peas at the oriental market along with thai doughnuts and udon noodles with Malasian seasoning

My wife and I eat spicy dishes all the time; since our eating habits changed for the better! So, I might have eaten wasabi and not even have known it?! LOL! My wife said she uses it in our food sometimes… !
As for sushi… I tried it back in the 90’s and it did not make my favorite list. I know… sounds crazy… only Stone doesn’t have an appetite for sushi. There are many establishments here that serve sushi too… it is very popular here for sure.

I love the Wasabi Kit Kats. We brought a bunch back with us and shared them with friends. Several folks also enjoyed them, although some people kind freaked out. I wish we could get them over here. All we can get here are wasabi peas.

I have seen the “Wasabi Kit-Kats”, but I haven’t tried them. I don’t have much of a “sweet tooth” so I don’t eat “junk food” so often.
