I wrote an earlier post about albums and movies that I like…including the movie “Shaun Of The Dead“.
It’s a zombie-comedy.
I also wrote another post about the movie “Zombieland“.
And recently we have begun watching an American TV series that became available on rental DVD not long ago.
Maybe you have already seen this show (if so, don’t tell me what’s going to happen! š ).
The show is titled “The Walking Dead” and it’s about the struggles of a group of survivors in a zombie-apocalypse.
Do you watch this show too? Do you like it?
I like it so much that I placed an order on Amazon.com for the comic that the TV series is based on.
Maybe you know this by now, but you can watch The Walking Dead in HD in hulu.jp Subscription is now 980 yen, and they have all episodes from S01E01 to S03E01 of said series.

Yeah, I’ve heard that hulu is in Japan now. Maybe I’ll install their app on my phone.

Great movies and a great series. I have always been a fan of this type of movie and the old George A Romero ones

Me, too.
What season of “The Walking Dead” are they currently up to in America?

Their way of structuring each season in 2 parts is quite confusing. But part 2 of the second season just finished. Season 3 starts in October

Season 2 Episode 1 will be available for DVD rental (the medium that I’m watching the series on) in June (2012).
I’m looking forward to it!

I don’t mind that. But I don’t have much of a reply since I haven’t even heard of either that John Carter movie or the Brad Pitt zombie one.

Yeah, the idea of Brad in a zombie movie seems a little odd, I’m guessing he’s trying to expand into more serious movies, though I think he’s also directing it (oh god…).
On a side note, John Carter is released soon, check out the trailer, the movie wasn’t bad but its not my sort of movie, but I say check out the trailer eitherway.
My company worked on all the Harry Potter movies and Pirates of the Caribbean, so for us WWZ is actually a pretty low level movie I suppose (but I do look forward to watching it).

Are zombie movies “serious”? š

Is that a movie title? What type of movie is it?
>My company worked on all the Harry Potter movies and Pirates of the Caribbean
Really? Is it a well-known company?

Yeah its pretty well known, http://www.cinesite.com/project-features/pirates-of-the-caribbean-on-stranger-tides though thats a sort of difficult thing to say, as how many post production companies do people usually know? (other than ILM of course).
Yeah that was the movie title, its based on books from 1909 by a famous author (who’s name I’ve forgotten now), the books are really famous science fiction though, they laid the original groundwork for many many movies, tv shows and other novels, though because of this, John Carter appears a little ‘dated’ in its simple approach, as opposed to something such as Avatar which is a more complex (yet simple) twist on the usual alien idea.
I’m sorry, I seem to have derailed your comments section, I didn’t mean to, we can finish the conversation if you would prefer.

I’ve been watching the Walking Dead since it started, I enjoy it, visually its great (im an artist so all the rundown buildings etc are great for me) and the story isn’t just about killing zombies for once, though I must admit I dislike the fact that the story isn’t all about ‘WHY are there Zombies?’ (I like to know these things… usually its my main interest).
Have you ever heard of or read the book ‘World War Z’?

No. Is it good? Tell me about it.

I’m not sure what episode the US is upto currently, the UK takes about a month or 2 to catch up.
WWZ is about a zombie war, but the book takes place from the perspective of a journalist who’s interviewing individuals who took part in the war, its really interesting, check out the wiki page for it. My company and I are currently working on the movie adaption staring Brad Pitt (honestly in the book you never read about the journalist… but for the film, since they hired someone big like Pitt, they decided to give him a lot of screentime.).

Are you making a movie with Brad Pitt? Really? Wow!
And…is Brad Pitt going to be in a zombie movie? I would have never imagined that.

Episode 10 of season 2 was shown last week.
Surprisingly it’s only 8 episodes ahead of what is currently being shown in Japan.

Maybe on cable TV in Japan it’s that far along…but I don’t have cable TV.
We’re watching the series on rental DVD…and it’s only up to season 1 episode 6.

Season 1 is only 6 episodes, so you might be waiting a while for the next DVDs to be available š

It’s definitely “Zombie Fever” within the U.S. pop culture right now. I dig Zombie movies, only I wouldn’t want to run into one. š®
My favorite Zombie flick of all-time is the “original” ‘Night Of The Living Dead’. George A. Romero is a horror genius! I haven’t tuned into the series ‘The Walking Dead’ – believe it or not! I’m too caught up in watching my ‘Finding Bigfoot’, UFO and Ghost Hunting reality television shows! LOL!
