Unfinished Business

24 Nov

Peter Criss was the original drummer of the rock band KISS. His “character” was the “Catman”.
But Peter Criss left the band in 1980 and was replaced by Eric Carr…the “Fox”.

Eric Carr ended up being a member of KISS for a longer period of time than Peter Criss. Eric was in the band from 1980 until he passed away in 1991.
Eric Carr was a legendary hard rock drummer and also a classy person…he was happy to meet with fans after a concert and he personally answered all of his fan mail.

I was very sad when I heard the news that Eric Carr died of cancer on 1991 November 24th! And I can’t believe that today is already the twentieth anniversary of his passing!

To honor Eric Carr, his family and friends have put together some previously unreleased songs and interviews of Eric’s onto a new album titled “Unfinished Business“.

This album, Eric Carr “Unfinished Business” goes on sale today, 2011 November 24th, the twentieth anniversary of his death.

Here’s a promo clip for this new album:

Oh yeah…today is also the 20th anniversary of the death of Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of Queen. He died the same day as Eric Carr.

Rest in peace, both Eric Carr and Freddie Mercury.

Are you a big Queen fan?
I think they’re “alright”…I am a big fan of KISS, though.

I wouldnt say i was a big fan, I know many of their songs, but mostly due to growing up hearing them, I’ve never been much of a KISS fan, to me I find it quite similar to Japanese Visual Kei, good songs but the main thing is the costumes etc etc.

      >I know many of their (Queen’s) songs

I have their “Greatest Hits” album. That’s enough for me. I like many of the songs on that album…but Queen isn’t one of my favorite bands.

      >I’ve never been much of a KISS fan

KISS has many fans but also many people don’t care for them too. I don’t care either way…I like them whether they’re popular or not.

      >the main thing is the costumes etc

Yeah, KISS is a visual band. I like many “shock rock” bands…they’re as much about the presentation as the music.

It’s been that long? I love Queen. I wish Freddie is still alive and keep making songs with the rest of the Queen

I like many of Queen’s songs, too.(But, KISS is much better! 😉 )

Yeah, it’s hard to believe that it’s already been 20 years since Freddie Mercury (and Eric Carr) have passed away.

I remember when Eric was on the cover of People magazine in the U.S. back in 1980, wearing what I believe was that outfit there with the fur. I made my dad get me a copy even though I didn’t normally read People (I was probably 6 at the time.)

Do you still have it? It’s valuable now, I’d bet!

It’s still the 23rd in England so I believe tomorrow there are some small gay pride marches in his name or something to this affect (not something I’m too knowledgeable of).

I haven’t read this blog in almost 3 weeks, It’s very rare I go that long between reading your posts.

      >gay pride marches in his name

You’re referring to Freddie Mercury and not Eric Carr, I assume.
