Idaho to the east, Miami to the west

28 Mar

The four special burgers for the Big America 2 campaign at McDonalds in Japan have all had their turn on the menu.

And now McDonalds Japan is bringing back the “Miami Burger” and the “Idaho Burger“.

Back on the menu for one week only...2011 March 25th - 31st.

I think the two best burgers of the “Big America 2” campaign were the “Texas2 Burger” and the “Miami Burger“…but, unfortunately for me, McDonalds isn’t bringing back the “Miami Burger” and the “Idaho Burger” to their stores across the whole country.
The “Idaho Burger” will be in their stores in 東日本 (east Japan), except for the 東北地方 (“Tohoku Region”) which is the area that was hit by the recent disaster, and the “Miami Burger” will be in McDonalds in 西日本 (western Japan).

Tokyo, which is where I live, is in eastern Japan…so the “Idaho Burger” is available here until 31 March. I prefer the “Miami Burger” though.

I won’t be buying an “Idaho Burger“, but I do plan to try the other new burger that is currently on the menu at McDonalds Japan…the 「チリチキン」 (“Chili Chicken”) sandwich.

The "Chili Chicken" sandwich is available at McDonalds all over Japan.

I love chili and I love chicken…so I think I’ll like this sandwich!

This post has made me hungry… and I’m supposed to be getting my nights sleep right now too! 🙂

It’s a little after 1PM on Thursday afternoon here now…I just finished lunch. 😉
      But it wasn’t fast-food…my wife’s delicious food. 🙂

Which of these sandwiches would you choose…the Idaho, the Miami or the Chili Chicken (which has already been replaced on the menu with the “Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich“)?

I’ll take the “Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich” please. Or, better yet, what your having for lunch… I’ll be right over! (LOL)

I’m trying to eat more chicken the last few years… with hamburgers here and there of course.

Ground Turkey makes for a cool “alternative” to ground hamburg when we cook at home… not as much fatty grease.

Gee Metal whiz… here I go, “off topic” once again by bringing up “ground turkey” (!) 🙂

        I don’t think I’ve ever had a ground-turkey sandwich? Is it good?

        Turkey isn’t common in Japan.

I could go for one of those chicken and chili burgers too-sounds so good to me. actually I haven’t been to Mc’s for a long time-I guess not having young kids has helped with that. my favorite food at Mc’s are the ice cream cones and sundaes, grilled chicken sandwich and I also like the oatmeal, which is fairly new here.

we hope you are all doing well. we miss hearing from you so I will send you an email in the morning. hope all is well, love Mom

I like the ice cream and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich too.

I never heard of McDonalds oatmeal before! Is it popular in America? It’s not on the menu in Japan.

McDonalds Japan has a breakfast hotdog and Salad McMuffin. I think they’re unique to Japan.

Wouldn’t mind trying that Chili Chicken burger myself, but I’m worried that if I keep eating these promotional items I’ll get sucked into eating at McDonalds a lot. It’s a dangerous lure.

Yeah, actually I don’t eat at McDonalds so often. I have tried only a few of their special temporary menu items…but I want to try the Chili Chicken sandwich.
