かっぱ寿司

11 Jul

Last month, I wrote a post about the Japanese Kappa.

But do you know the inexpensive, but delicious, 寿司 (sushi) chain in Japan called 「かっぱ寿司」 (“Kappa Zushi“)?

All of the sushi there cost only ¥105 each for a plate of two sushi.

Do you like sushi?

Have you ever tried 「かっぱ寿司」 (Kappa-Zushi)?

If you want to visit 「かっぱ寿司」 (Kappa-Zushi) you can find the nearest location by using their website (in Japanese only).

I have sushi about once a month or so. Salmon nigiri is the best. Good maki can also be found here!

Maki-sushi can be bought at convenience stores in Japan!

    Wow, yummy. 🙂
I like sushi too. In Bali it cost about $5 and you can eat as many as you want.

      Five dollars for “all-you-can-eat” sushi?

      Really? Five “U.S.” dollars?

      Can you eat many?

Not so good as the original of course, but occasionally very good.

I like sushi. Many Swedes like sushi. If you should ever come to Stockholm, you would be amazed how many sushi places there are.

Kappa-zushi has 88 yen-plate lunches. (At least in Sendai.)

I like the place, but my wife doesn’t. I guess I can’t tell the difference between them and a “good” sushi place.

Yes, they have specials like that at all of their chains.

I actually prefer affordable, “blue-collar” type places to eat (such as this) to “gourmet” establishments.

I’ve only been to Kappa-zushi once but I absolutely loved it. My friend took me there the first time I went to Kyoto. I thought the sushi was really delicious but she said it was just average, ah well, I enjoyed it anyway!!

It is average (for Japan)…so it’s still excellent.
      And affordable.

      So I like it.

As chance would have it my first time to Kappa-zushi was on Sunday; the same day you wrote this. It’s funny! I agree with @clf that there are better 100Y sushi restaurants, but the shinkansen is just so much fun. The sushi is just so thin! My favorite is still Nigiri No Tokube even if it is more pricey.

You think so. I think Kappa-Zushi is plenty good.

visited Kappa Sushi few times before. verdict: there’re better 100 yen sushi outlets out there.
but no harm trying it out as it’s cheap, sometimes just 99 yen per plate during promotion (valid on weekdays).

Yes, many 回転寿司 (conveyor-belt sushi) places have ¥100 dishes. But 「かっぱ寿司」 (Kappa Zuzhi) is about the only one that has their entire menu priced that low.

And, to me, Kappa-Zushi is just as good as any 回転寿司 (conveyor-belt sushi) place…which is to say, very good.
I like 回転寿司 (conveyor-belt sushi) places a lot!

I absolutely love Sushi and if Im there I’d be sushi-happy to go to that chain for those prices! The only thing I wouldn’t eat is the Unagi.

Don’t you like eel? I like it a lot.

But actually, on sushi, アナゴ (saltwater eel) is usually used, not unagi (freshwater eel).
