It seems that the world’s cities are constantly being rated.
And Tokyo, Japan has often been ranked #1 (for example, Tokyo has been voted the city with the world’s best cuisine many times)…and at least Tokyo usually makes the ranking’s “Top Five”.

Southern California is very good. One of the best places to live in the world. But the cost of living is very high, even in todays housing market, homes in the better parts are very expensive. I live in an ok part of LA but not the best. LA is not that bad I guess but there still are a lot of morons here and graffiti. But the weather is nice.

One thing I didn’t like about California when we visited was that all the sights we wanted to see were so far apart and also the lack of a good public transportation system (we’re used to Tokyo’s excellent system). We had to rent a car while we visited there.

I live in Los Angeles and I’m not surprised that it ranks high among scientist and artists. A lot of both here. Also not surprised LA ranks low among all others. LA is pretty crappy. Too much trash, graffiti, and stupid moronic people.

>LA is pretty crappy.
I visited Los Angeles once a number of years ago. It seemed like a nice enough city…but then again, I was only there for one day. Not nearly enough time to really know anything about the city.
But if you dislike LA, why do you stay there?
