KISS was on the American TV show “Late Show With David Letterman” to promote their new album (Click here to read my post about their album).
I haven’t seen the David Letterman show (or any other American TV show) in many years…but thanks to YouTube, I was able to find out about this and watch it!
I think the Thayer song is good but belongs on a different album. Not interested in hearing Eric Singer try and sound like Peter Criss either! My review is at http://bit.ly/4qamoJ and Ace Frehley’s Anomaly at http://bit.ly/13gU7e. Check It.
It’s not like that.
American TV shows aren’t on TV here…except occasionally they’ll run a season of an old series.
So, I guess to be completely accurate I should say that I have watched a season of “Columbo” once, a season of “ER“, and “Knight Rider” and a couple of U.S. documentaries.
But 99% of what is shown on TV here are normal Japanese programs.
Maybe if I had satellite cable TV I could see American TV…but I don’t miss it.
I totally agree about “Stand”, it’s a little too “High School Musical”.. My favorite tracks are Russian Roulette and Nobody’s Perfect. Gene Simmons rocks!
This song, and the entire new album, are great! (Well, I don’t care for the song “Stand“…cuz I don’t like ballads much! 😉 ).
And the original members are in their early sixties!
Old for a rock ‘n roll band…but not so uncommon anymore—Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, etc are all that age or older and still recording and touring.

I think Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer’s songs are two highlights of the album!

Wow… No U.S. shows at? Did you drop us cold turkey when you moved to Japan? 😀

There’s good figurative and bad figurative…this is of the “bad” variety.
I hate myself for saying this, but I actually like the Tommy Thayer song.

It’s a good song!

I should write a song called Sit:
Sit in a chair – you won’t be standing up

You should!

Also the lyric:
Stand by my side – I’ll be next to you
Well no shiznet! If you’re standing by someone’s side it’s pretty much assumed that they are next to you!

Well, I’m sure you know that those lyrics are figurative.

I agree. Stand is kinda awful and doesn’t even fit well with the rest of the songs on the album.

It starts out promising though.

I thought “Stand” was kinda similar to their song “Nothing Can Keep Me From You” from the “Detroit Rock City” OST.
I don’t like either of those songs.
But my favorite tracks from the new KISS album are “All For The Glory“, Modern Day Delilah“, and “I’m An Animal“.

Not a bad opening riff, but how old are they now?
