I saw an online ad for 「ライトセーバーチョップスティック」 (“Lightsaber Chopsticks“)!
They come in red “Darth Vader” lightsaber, blue “Luke Skywalker” lightsaber, and green “Yoda” lightsaber.
The red and blue ones are 230mm “adult size” and the green pair are 200mm “child size” chopsticks.
The ad says 「日本の食卓へ!」 (“(Coming) to dinner tables in Japan!”).
I’m not a big enough of a “Star Wars” fan to buy something like this. I prefer to use normal 箸 (chopsticks).
Where can i find this in Tokyo?

At Kotobukiya store in Akihabara. But I’ve seen them at Loft and Yodobashi Camera, too.

i’m stoped myself but i’m confused about the release date: some sites say nov. 20. 25 or 28 and some say dec.6 so which one is the actual date?

Are you in Japan?
It seems that these chopsticks will be available in Japan at the end of this month…and via online sales for overseas in December (2009).

I’m sure I’m not an expert like someone who uses chopsticks daily…but for a person that uses them maybe once a year I think I am above average.
(Keep in mind that I’m a drummer. I’m pretty dexterous.)

Where do you use chopsticks? In your home? Or a restaurant?

When you come to Japan, you will see many interesting things in stores that you can’t find in other countries.

Maybe some stores in Tokyo sell them.
Online, it’s here:

The chopsticks are ¥1,050 / pair.

Thanks. I actually found them on amazon.jp available for pre-order for only ¥785 in 3 colors – cool! Release date is November 25.

¥785 each set…not for all three.
It’s a better price. ¥215 off.
Are you gonna buy them?
(If anyone’s interested, they’re here:
Yoda chopsticks
Luke Skywalker chopsticks
Darth Vader chopsticks )

Yes, this does not seem to be practical to use. But I am a Star Wars fans so I wouldn’t mind getting a pair (or two) as a souvenier – do you know where they are available for purchase?

I wouldn’t go out of my way to get these…but if I walked by them in a store I would probably pick it up and consider getting it just for fun.

I use chopsticks everyday. But I’d feel like a little kid if I ate with those Star Wars chopsticks.
As you said, maybe I’d buy a pair for the novelty value…if they’re not expensive.
BTW, can you use chopsticks?
