I don’t claim to be a beer ソムリエ (sommelier), but I know what I like.
I’m gonna try and make a list here of as many of the different beers I’ve tried that I can remember. And I’m gonna try to rate them (with a rating scale of 1-3 stars (★ ～ ★★★). One star (★) being the lowest, and three (★★★) is the highest).
I also wrote the beer’s country of origin.
The star ratings are simply my personal opinion. Kirin Beer is my favorite. And I think any cold lager is good.

I may have tried others that I’ve forgotten. This is all that I can remember off the top of my head.
As you can probably tell by my ratings, I love beer…and I’m not real picky. But I’ve tried Guinness Beer and I didn’t think much of it. やっぱり、I like lager beer.
What do you think of my list? Have you tried any of these beers? Are your impressions different from mine? What’s your favorite beer? How often do you have a beer? I have a couple with dinner everyday.

If you’re an expert on beer, I assume you would have offered a suggestion of a beer to try.

Pretty comprehensive lager list!
I actually quite like the new Kirin Aki Aji

Kirin Lemon has no alcohol? I thought I read “Alc. 6%” on the can. But that would make sense, such a light taste!
Talking about bars, yesterday I went to a metal bar called “Godz” in Kabuki Cho. It is awesome, very loud music, but nice people.

“Kirin Lemon” is a soft-drink. No alcohol.
Kirin also sells “chu-hi” drinks in cans…which are fruit juice and Japanese sake.
I believe the “Kirin Lemon chu-hi” has 7% alcohol (not 6%) though.
You went to Kabuki-cho? There are alot of unique characters that come out at night in that part of town!

Kirin city is OK because they have more than just standard Kirin.
You may be interested to know that Guinness recently bought a controlling share in Kirin, and that the standard Kirin recipe changed this year to be all malt. Kirin also make Heartland beer.
Come out one night and I’ll show you some places to get fantastic beers in Tokyo.

I have tried Kirin stout today (called Ichibanshibori if I remember correctly) at a place called “Kirin City” in Shibuya, and I really liked it. I have also tried “Kirin Lemon” in a can, but it was just like a lemonade to me, not that good. Eager to try all the other Japanese beers!

Kirin “Ichi-ban-shibori” is a great beer. (I forgot to add it to my list! I’ve drunk it many times!)
Kirin (as well as the other brewers in Japan) also make soft-drinks…
“Kirin Lemon” is a lemon soft-drink. It is a type of lemonade. No alcohol.
(Kirin City, by the way, is kinda expensive! There are much better places to go.)

Interesting list! I know almost all the foreign names, but almost no Japanese ones! I have catching-up to do, and I love the idea!!!
I love Guinness but I also like other types of beer. I am a beer lover too!
In France (coming from Belgium, THE beer country), we have hundreds of delicious beers. Usually bottled strong beers, very tasty, not very sparkling, that you drink at a certain temperature (not cold, usually at around 10°-15°). Just like the ‘Satan’ you tried.
In the north and east of France (next to Belgium and Germany, beer-lover countries), you can find a lot of places called ‘Académie de la bière’ (‘Beer Academy’) or other beer-related names pubs. Usually you find about 20 draught beers and 300-400 bottled beers from all over the world. I wonder if there are places like that in Tokyo and if beer is popular in Japan?
I especially like trappist beers, but also local beers. For example, there are pubs where the beer is made right there, all around you. And pubs selling beers from local producers.
I also like ‘sugar-beers’ (I don’t know how to say, like Kriek (cherry beer, strawberry or apricot beer, or ‘panaché’ with lemonade) and ‘cocktail beers’.

I have never seen a place with 300 – 400 types of beers…but beer is very popular in Japan.
I have never tried a fruit beer…but you can buy it in Tokyo too. And other types too. Including “milk beer” and 「こどものビール」 (“Kids’ Beer“) (of course, non-alcohol!)

Wow – don’t see many of the Japanese small breweries listed here. What about Baird, Hakusekikan, Kiuchi’s Hitachino Nest, Shiga Kogen, etc!

Fuller’s London Pride is not a dark beer, it’s just a shade darker than a lager. It’s an ale, not a stout (which are the dark ones). You should definitely try it if you can find it. You might like it. Don’t worry it’s not thick either. Juts drink it cold.

Wow, you’ve only just scratched the surface. I’ve tried like 10 times more. Japanese beers are not bad, but no where near as good as some of the Canadian and European beers. I suggest trying Fuller’s London Pride, and Hoegaarden (which is fantastic in the summer).

I don’t drink alot of imported beer. To me, Japanese beer is great…and less expensive (although I did find a store that sells Heineken for ¥100 a can).
“David” commented above and suggested “London Pride” as well. I’ve never heard of it before.

In Canada we have a wide selection of of beers available, especially in Ontario. We have two govt. run stores called the Beer Store, and the LCBO. Which carry 698 different types of beer, and all at very reasonable prices (much cheaper that Japan). So, yes I’ve been able to try a lot.

I also “googled” London Pride. At first, I got a website for a gay festival! Then I tried “London Pride Beer” and found it.
It’s a dark beer, isn’t it? I really prefer lagers.

My favorite beer is “Stella Artois”.
Stay away from “Sierra nevada pale ale” , it is the worst beer in the world.

If you ever get a chance, try some Finnish as well. Lapin Kulta, for example (Lapi Gold, in translation) or Karhu (Bear) or Koff.

I like cold lager beers and my image of British beer is warm, flat dark beer.
Maybe I’m wrong. Which is your favorite?
And actually, I don’t drink imported beers often. I prefer domestic (Japanese)…they’re less expensive (and taste great).

I tend to avoid lagers in the UK as they are usually just full of gas and have probably been watered down. And most of them are imported anyway – the only domestic lager I can think of is Carling.
Some of the beers I like are London Pride, Old Speckled Hen, Spitfire, and Newcastle Brown Ale.
Traditional cask ales are not refrigerated, but they should not be “warm”. Usually they are cool because the casks are kept in the cellar.

Many English ales are named “Old xyz”.
“Old Hooky” and “Old Peculier” (not a typo, it’s actually spelled like that) are a couple of others I had during my recent visit back home.
