Parking

Parking for both cars and bicycles is at a premium in Japan’s big cities.

So automatic elevated parking garages are common here.

Here’s a video of an elevated car parking garage and one of an underground automated bicycle parking garage:

Hello from New York! Yeah, I have always heard that real estate is hard to find there.

Wow, that is so incredible! is it very expensive to park there? just to park in an ordinary parking lot here can be pretty high, something like $5.00 for the day downtown. other than downtown, parking is not a problem in Asheville. it really wasn’t in Raleigh either. I think big cities like NYC are where parking spaces are just about nonexistent. some of those car tricks are scarey too. cars can be a lethal weapon-really. I know from first hand experience, they are not toys and most young people don’t really realize the danger. anyway, I am impressed with all that technology too, like opening the car with a cell phone? is that a trick or can it really be done? very cool stuff.

US $5 (about ¥500) to park your car all day is cheap!

And, yes, it is possible to lock/unlock and start your car with your cell-phone in Japan (if you have a new car and new type phone).
