Today is the last day of a 三連休 (three-day weekend).
(Click here to read why Friday was a holiday).
As I mentioned in an earlier post (Click here to read it), we paid a visit to our family grave on Friday…then we went to the 「アンパンマンとやなせたかし展」 (”Anpanman & Takashi Yanase Exhibit“) at the 日本橋三越本店 (Mitsukoshi Dep’t Store head store in Nihonbashi, Tokyo).
Here are some photos I took:
+++
Yesterday the weather was really nice in Tokyo. Clear sky, comfortable temperature…perfect weather. So we walked around downtown and stopped in a few stores to get my kids some things that they need for the new school year.
+++
Yesterday’s weather was perfect…but today’s rainy and very windy. And a bit cold.
It’s too bad because today’s the Tokyo Marathon!
It started at 9:05AM this morning in 新宿 (Shinjuku, Tokyo) and is still going as I type this.
I’m watching it live on TV. It’s scheduled to end at 4:30PM.
The finish line is in お台場 (Odaiba, Tokyo). As of 3:20PM (when I writing this), about 26,000 runners have crossed the finish line…there are still about 9,000 people running it.
It’s too bad they didn’t hold the marathon yesterday when the weather was so much better!
Anyways, I mentioned the Tokyo Marathon in a post a few days ago. (Click here to read it.)
Lovely photos of Anpan Man’s exhibition 🙂 What a marathon, must be fun though however if that was me i’d pass out by the time i did just 1km 😀 I guess its a rarity in Japan to have a really nice weather where the skies are clear and blue ..lovely temperature and pleasant ..same as here unless im back at my hometown its always clear blue sky and pleasant weather.

Not at all. The weather is usually beautiful in Japan!

Hamburger Kid looks suspiciously like Mayor McCheese.

They might be related. 😉 Hamburger Kid is supposed to be an American (like “Billy The Kid”).

Maybe “Big Mac” (the police guy) is his uncle!

Is the Big Mac character a police officer?
I don’t remember that.
Was he always after the “Hamburgler“?

That is the marathon at Tianjin City in China organized by a Danish travel company.Our Great Wall of China Marathon(GWCM)is organized totally by Chinese people and the Great Walls are in Beijing.

I see.
That’s kinda confusing…having two “Great Wall Of China Marathons”!
(Just a minor point…in the Japanese portion of your comment above, you wrote that the marathon is on May 1st (Golden Week). Technically, Friday, May 1 is a workday in Japan. Golden Week is May 3 – 6 this year.)

37,000? Really?!? Wow! It was even bigger than I thought! I read that it was capped at 30,000. We watched in Hibiya, then Ginza, Toyosu and finally the finish at the Big Sight. Loads of fun! Great day! I’m going to run the 10k portion next year!

>37,000?
Sorry, I mistyped. I corrected my post above.
The total was 35,000.
>I read that it was capped at 30,000.
30,000 for the full race and 5,000 people did the shorter 10KM course.
>I’m going to run the 10k portion next year!
Good luck!
