It’s early in the morning on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 in Japan right now…but in Washington DC, it’s about noon on Tuesday, January 20.
And the United States’ 44th president just took office.

44th President of USA, Barack Obama
He took office today at the age of 47…making him the fifth youngest person to become President of the United States (Theodore Roosevelt was the youngest at 42).
My youngest sister went to Barack Obama’s inauguration in Washington D.C.. If she’s able to take some nice photos and send them to me, I’ll add them to this post.
joe…
I think you’re just being cheeky. But other people (especially online) might misinterpret your comment there.

tokyo5, this inauguration was the first one I watched on television and was unbelievable. Also, his first two full days in office have been very busy.
I guess you could say that things are starting to turn around in Washington D.C.!

I read (here: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090121/ap_on_re_as/as_inauguration_china_obama ) that the Chinese government censored President Obama’s speech.

coffee…
It seems many people in America are excited about this presidency.
I saw your website. You really love coffee, huh? I drink a cup of instant coffee every morning…and when I join my wife and kids when they go shopping, I often go to a McDonalds for a cup of coffee and wait for them. McDonalds coffee is inexpensive and tastes good.

Sir Pent…
I feel the same as you.
Politicians are all the same to me!
American people seem to always get excited about a new president…and then complain about him before long! 😀
Anyways, as you said…I hope he can do as good a job as many people expect he will.

I hope Obama lives up to the hype. He has been put on such a high pedestal though…
